GoodLeaf is currently seeking an Assistant Grower to join our team in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Head Grower, the Assistant Grower will be responsible for overseeing the seeding production area, nutrient recipes, testing, and seed procurement.
The key areas of responsibility include:
General growing responsibilities at the farm, including seeding, transplanting, and harvesting
Oversight of the seeding production area, and assisting with seeding as needed
Monitoring plant growth and health, including collecting and analyzing data from harvesting and test crops
Microgreen feeding and care
Nutrient recipe make-up and testing
Environmental data collection
Oversight of water levels in growth chamber, ensuring adequate controls in place for maximum growth
Managing equipment related to growing and procurement/inventory process
Assisting with research and development projects in relation to growing, including testing, trials, and data collection
Following practices that enable GoodLeaf Farms to achieve production goals
Following GoodLeaf Farms Employee Practices and Food Safety Policy and Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Working closely with the Vertical Farming Technicians, Farm Manager, and Head Grower to ensure efficiency of facility operations
Other assigned duties as required
Qualifications and Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize workload
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture, including previous relevant experience in farm operations and horticulture, and an understanding of horticultural plant genomics. Required skills include flexibility, organization, time management, teamwork and strong work ethic.
