What are microgreens?

Microgreens are greens that have been harvested in the primary stage of plant growth, when the first set of true leaves have appeared. Our microgreens are grown from the same seeds as mature plants, we simply harvest them earlier.

Above is a visualization of the growth cycle of a Broccoli plant from germination to maturity, with the microgreen stage highlighted.

Facts about Microgreens:

  • Studies have shown that microgreens can contain up to 40x more vital nutrients than their mature counterparts.

  • Microgreens are safer than sprouts.

    • Unlike microgreens that are grown in airy, lighted conditions, sprouts are grown in dark moist conditions where bacteria can develop.

  • They add a burst of flavour and texture to sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, soups, pizza, burgers., as well as beauty to finished plates.
