GoodLeaf Farms is a multi-level vertical farming company that produces clean and nutritious leafy greens and herbs 365 days a year. We believe in delivering safe, healthy food to Canadian families year-round. We have farms in Guelph, Ontario, Truro, Nova Scotia and are in the process of growing in other provinces.
GoodLeaf Farms is searching for a Head Grower to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role that will involve varied hours from time to time along with working off-shifts. This position will be based in Guelph, Ontario.
The Head Grower is responsible for the implementation and improvement of all growing related tasks. This is a leadership opportunity with a number of diverse duties which include but not limited to the following:
The safe, efficient execution, continual improvement and development of growing activities;
Ensuring growing quality and quantity continues to exceed customers expectations;
Make recommendations to the operations team on solutions as they pertain to plant care and quality;
Mitigate crop risk through development and capacity building of processes and procedures;
Identify potential crop issues and facilitate corrective measures;
Communicate to the operations team any crop concerns and mitigation action recommendations;
Other duties and requirements as assigned by the Operations Lead and the business requirements
Hours and Workdays:
This job will have a 5-day work week schedule however weekends and evenings will be required as needed.

Strong knowledge of farming including planting, irrigating, soil analysis, fertilization application, plant nutrition, climate control and harvesting;
Ability to work in a collaborative manner in a grow environment;
Strong interpersonal and verbal skills;
Strong research skills with the ability to develop and improve product continually.
Education & Qualifications:
Formal education in Agriculture, Plant Science or a related field;
Must have grower experience and must be eager and excited about hands on work;
Ability and eagerness to educate others and lead by example.
Experience in Growing/Horticulture: 3 years (Preferred)
