What we are looking for

The Buyer, MRO & Indirect Spend is a key member of our supply chain team that will be responsible for purchasing equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of GoodLeaf’s farms across Canada. 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance, horticulture, QA, and production team with replenishment of indirect materials required for smooth operations.

  • Accountable for all MRO (maintenance, repairs and operation) including vendor selection and price negotiations.

  • Develop and manage cost savings measures.

  • Adhere to established budgets and escalate as necessary.

  • Research and secure products through analysis of vendors and market.

  • Develop and foster an extensive, strong network of supplier partners.

  • Keep track of inventory levels as materials, equipment, and stock are distributed within the organization or transferred between farms utilizing either manual or computerized inventory management systems.

  • Review all purchase requisitions, ensure approvals, and follow up to ensure deliveries on schedule.

  • Create purchase orders in SAGE enterprise system.

  • Liaise with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure the correct parts are being supplied promptly, this will include a review of reports to ensure product alignment with timelines.

  • Actively maintain a relationship with vendors to monitor and solve supply chain issues that may arise.

  • Ensure that inventory counts are being completed at the farm and updated for month-end.

  • Investigate stock discrepancies, process inventory adjustments, and maintain accurate inventory data.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in a purchasing role

  • Knowledge of purchasing strategies, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.

  • Bilingual, French/ English mandatory

  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment with minimal supervision.

  • Highly organized with strong time management abilities.

  • Strong math skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

What we are looking for

The Buyer, Commodity & Direct Spend is a key member of our supply chain department and will be responsible for supporting strategic sourcing development and ensure effective implementation of sourcing strategies: selection of suppliers, delivery of savings goals, promoting supplier relationship management programs, and managing partnerships with select key strategic suppliers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate short-term RFP’s and spot buy needs when necessary.

  • Assist with the implementation of long-term sourcing strategies.

  • Support commercial / contractual discussions both internally and externally.

  • Foster relationships which key suppliers and stakeholders.

  • Evaluate supplier performance and address supplier issues as needed.

  • Lead supplier audits, in consultation with QA Manager.

  • Manage the resolution of problems in supplier performance such as quality, delivery, cost and invoicing.

  • Lead and manage the sourcing process from RFP process through quotation analysis, summary review and recommendation for sourcing award.

  • Collaborate daily with plant and agricultural operations on raw material demand planning and forecasting.

  • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, raw product forecasting/budgeting, supply chain development, production usage and application and inventory management.

  • Participate in streamlining supply chain operations to improve performance.

  • Perform risk analysis-identification and resolution of supply issues to meet commitments.

  • Work with internal and external customers to resolve product issues.

  • Negotiate supplier agreements including long-term contracts.

  • Work with suppliers for Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma

  • Minimum 5 years in the field.

  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment with minimal supervision.

  • Highly organized with strong time management abilities.

What we are looking for

The Master Production Planner owns, develops, and executes the grow room capacity models to achieve desired capacity to demand forecasts while optimizing grow room utilization and grow conditions required for plant yield and quality. 

This role encompasses production planning and order fulfillment. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to develop and align on a grow room configuration that will best meet commercial, horticulture, operations and supply chain needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent interpersonal communications, and a proven ability to learn quickly and think creatively.  Optimization will often require trade-offs across the internal stakeholder groups and this role will need to be the champion for what is best for GoodLeaf overall.  This is a rapidly growing industry, where the ability to be flexible, deal with ambiguity and drive for results are essential to success.  As GoodLeaf grows, the incumbent in this role would likewise be expected to take on greater leadership responsibilities.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Technical ownership of GoodLeaf grow room capacity models, SCADA and FP inventory Power BI apps.

  • Key Stakeholder of GoodLeaf SHOP process (Sales, Horticulture, Operations/Supply chain Planning)

  • Develop and deploy various grow room configurations to meet operational and commercial requirements across all GoodLeaf farms in the network (currently 3)

  • Develop and deploy capacity models for all nodes of the farming system (Seeding, Germination, Growing, Harvesting, Packaging)

  • Support all Farms’ production planners

  • Execute production planning and order fulfilment for the Saint-Hubert farm.

  • Assist in Commission-Qualify-Verify (CQV) activities for new farm facilities and systems.

  • Assist in maintaining technology and process standardization across the GoodLeaf farm network.

  • Create and maintain relationships with consultants, suppliers, developers, etc. required for the GoodLeaf production platform and new farm facilities and systems.

  • Provide subject matter expertise with respect to grow room capacity modeling

  • Increase and develop internal knowledge with respect to vertical farming technologies (automation, climate control, irrigation, harvesting, packaging), manufacturing technologies and practices, data management/analysis.

  • Actively improve technical knowledge in the controlled environment agriculture (CEA) industry.

  • Lead teams of internal and external stakeholders in reviewing existing and future designs.

  • Directly supervise technical teams as GoodLeaf grows.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Systems), Mathematics, or other related degrees

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in technical roles encompassing S&OP process, planning / forecasting

  • Familiarity with the major technical systems of an indoor farm (irrigation, lighting, HVAC, nutrients & food safety) is considered an asset

  • A minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in a technical or operational role

  • Fully bilingual

  • Experience in an Engineering, Process Design, or S&OP process role within a CEA industry is an asset

What we are looking for

The Controller will be a key member of the finance team and will be responsible for implementing and driving the organization’s financial systems, internal controls and all aspects of financial reporting both internal and external.   • Supporting all aspects of accounting management, including financial reporting and administration, month-end reconciliations, year-end audits and tax preparation

The Customer Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in the GoodLeaf Farms organization working closely with like-minded customer partners to drive change in the Canadian landscape for leafy greens.  

The Position will be based out of Montreal or Guelph – Hybrid (Bilingual French / English Mandatory)

Role & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for customer marketing and promotions management including planning, analysis, and customer & consumer communication/presentations.

  • In conjunction with Brand Manager, Account Managers and VP Commercial, plans, directs, executes, and analyzes customer marketing plans across all 4 Ps of marketing.

  • Executes (and at times creates) customer specific marketing plans and go-to-market models for GoodLeaf Farms to grow business with new and existing customers (including both on-premises and digital campaigns). Strong coordination with account management teams is required to ensure solid execution.

  • Leads projects across commercial (marketing and sales) and cross-functional teams, providing strategic & tactical coordination with internal (ie. cross functional project teams) and external partners (eg agencies, brokers, customers).

  • Ensures alignment of strategy with volume and profit growth objectives.

  • Measures and reports key performance indicators.

  • Supports the development of annual customer marketing plans for assigned brands and presentations to divisional leadership.

  • Responsible for both CPG and Food Service customer connectivity 

  • Responsible for the delivery of customer presentations related to marketing capabilities and trends as required.

  • Potential for travel across Canada to customer meetings etc. and to US, as required.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Bilingual 

  • BA in Marketing or related field.

  • Demonstrated relevant skills and experiences (min 3.5years) in Food Service, CPG or related field.

  • Experience includes leadership strategic thinking, communication, teamwork, project leadership, P&L understanding, syndicated databases, research, planning, consumer activation and communication, sales and category analysis.

What we are looking for

Reporting to the VP Commercial, the Account Manager, Independent Accounts plays a key role in driving profitable growth on shelf, with independents and specialty channels across Canada.  This will include creating and executing strategies and tactic to support the company’s strategic plan, overseeing a team of retail merchandising brokers, a sales specialist and having direct responsibility for Wholesale accounts.

Role & Responsibilities

Planning & Execution

  • Leads the development and implementation of annual business plans, working with internal and external partners to deliver in a timely manner and on budget.

  • Develops and executes brand plans that live both offline and online: in-store, e-commerce, social media, and events.

  • Provides project direction for customer focused marketing plans including communication, packaging, promotions, and other marketing support programs.

  • Performs administrative functions required to manage the portfolio including preparation of regular reports outlining business performance and managing the status of projects.

Content Creation, Digital Strategy & Innovation

  • Leads the content creation strategy for the brand to inform, educate and engage consumers.

  • Collaborates with VP Commercial and Customer Marketing Manager to develop the annual marketing budget and effectively manage assigned budget responsibilities.

What we are looking for

As an Automation & Controls Engineer at GoodLeaf Farms, you will be a key contributor to our mission of revolutionizing agriculture through technological innovation and sustainable practices. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Automation and Controls, you will play a pivotal role in the automation of our vertical farming operations across Canada. Your primary responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining Allen-Bradley PLC systems, managing distributed IO devices, and integrating 3rd party controllers.  Additionally, you will work within the SCADA system to optimize overall performance, ensuring seamless communication between different components of the automation infrastructure.

Role & Responsibilities

System Optimization:

  • Continuously evaluate and optimize control systems to enhance efficiency and resource utilization.

  • Implement improvements to achieve optimal growth conditions.

SCADA System Integration:

  • Work within the SCADA system to oversee and optimize the overall performance of the vertical farming automation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication between SCADA and PLC systems.

A-B PLC Systems:

  • Install, configure, and maintain A-B PLC systems to automate critical processes within our vertical farming operations.

  • Develop and implement PLC programs for optimal control of irrigation, climate, and lighting systems.

Distributed IO Devices:

  • Manage distributed Input/Output (IO) devices to ensure seamless communication and data exchange between different components of the automation system.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IO devices to maintain system reliability.

3rd Party Controllers:

  • Integrate and collaborate with 3rd party controllers to enhance the overall automation infrastructure.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and support teams to optimize the performance of 3rd party controllers. 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of PLC configurations, programs, and changes.

  • Generate regular reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and improvements.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager Automation and Controls and other team members to align automation strategies with overall business objectives.

 Qualifications & Educational Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining A-B PLC systems.

  • Strong programming skills in A-B PLC languages.

  • Familiarity with distributed IO devices and 3rd party controllers. (IO-Link, Ethernet/IP)

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proven track record of diagnosing faulty logic.
